Our work is centered around requests from managers and active shareholders of groups of all sizes and markets. Furthermore, we work closely with company advisers (auditors, lawyers, etc.), whose skill sets are complementary to our own.
When a company is facing a turning point in its development, managers often call upon Zalis for our operational expertise and our commitment to delivering results for our clients. We recognize that periods of definitive change require real risk management methods. We know these changes may face resistance, which is why we work closely with our clients every step of the way. We value this cooperation, and urge managers not to leave it too late before calling us, as time is of the essence.
Once alerted, we will build a team of management experts with a size and skill set matching our client’s needs .
Our team will issue a diagnosis, after defining the scope of intervention, which will support existing management in implementing an action plan.
In most cases, shareholders call upon us when they are aware that the company’s business is dealing with management and strategy issues and/or when the company faces financial difficulties .
Very often business managers privilege short term priorities over long term issues. These issues are in fact critical when overcoming current difficulties. With our experience in crisis situations and our distance from your day-to-day business, we are able to establish a diagnosis rapidly and then define an action plan.
Where a solution is possible, we accompany the firm until the business has recovered or has been rescued.
CREDITORS & BANKS
When companies fail to implement a rescue plan early enough, the banks and creditors are left to cope with the ensuing cash flow difficulties. As such, they ask Zalis to establish a diagnosis and to determine whether or not they should continue to invest further in order to save the company.
Zalis maintains partnerships with prestigious law firms and works in tandem with them on complex cases.
These funds may call upon us to restructure an acquired company. Equally, we work with investment funds when our clients are seeking new capital.
Receivers prevent troubled businesses from going under, acting either as « Mandataire Ad-Hoc » or as « Conciliation ». Their main role is to negotiate with the creditors and lenders of a company. While they do not manage a company’s business, they play a mediating role with suppliers, banks, social and tax authorities in order to coordinate a solution and to favor an agreement between the company and its creditors. As such, they may ask us to establish a diagnosis and propose an action plan which we will then help to implement.
AUDIT & ACCOUNTING FIRMS
Audit and accounting firms are the first witnesses of crisis situations within a company. As such, we maintain a close relationship with these firms. They solicit Zalis’ intervention as soon as potential problems are detected. Indeed, time is of the essence and the quicker they react, the less likely the impact on the company will be.
